Some experts say Social Security could go belly up as early as 2013, the
year the boomers start cashing in. Others say 2016 or 2019. And very
conservative forecasts put it at 2029 or 2030. Everyone agrees, however,
that Social Security will be gone by 2036. Mark your calendars.
"To pay for this flood of retirees, unless there are drastic cuts in
benefits, the projected percentage of workers' income that will go right
into the pockets of the elderly is as high as 40 percent."
